I prefer to use graphite and charcoal since I struggle to maintain patience in my art. Being able to cover a large area with just some charcoal powder saves me time and makes it easier for me to focus on the detail and tonal values and Fabriano Paper.

I started drawing from a young age and was inspired by my uncle's art. Although he was adopted into our family, it is safe to admit that there are no artistic genes in our family but yet he managed to inspire me. Family and teachers have supported and believed in me since about grade 2.

Growing up I decided that I wanted to become a graphic designer since I have been told that becoming an artist is not a career that will generate a stable income. In 2018 I started with my Diploma in Design and Studio Art at the Central University of Technology whereby I took Communication Design as a major. This skill has helped me develop through all my art mediums as a photographer, tattooist, Visual artist and graphic designer. I have experienced some hardships through my studies and will only be finishing my diploma in 2022.

In this time I have seen a lot of artworks by reputable artists from the Renaissance Era but honestly speaking, I resonate mostly with the artist Jono Dry, a South African artist from Cape Town that specializes in hyper realism drawing with graphite and charcoal on Fabriano as a medium that I specialize in as well.

I strive to put my hometown, Roodepan in Kimberley on the map by making the best with the little that I have and giving a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves.

A personal note to my Uncle Christo Stevens: Thank you for inspiring me.
